Myachi Hand Sack: Combining the Fluidity of Martial Arts with the Full-Body Coordination of Action Sports

If you haven’t heard of the Myachi Hand Sack Mania yet, you will. It is sweeping across the U.S. like a tidal wave. Myachi (mi-ya-chi) is a totally mesmerizing activity for kids and any of us who are young-at-heart. It is definitely going to be one of the hottest toys of the year.

Think of the Myachi as a hacky-sack with a martial arts twist. Using a rectangular-shaped hand sack, you combine martial arts fluidity with numerous hand & body-coordination movements to form a repertoire of actions that will mesmerize your friends. You can catch it, kick it, flip it or stick it … just don’t palm it.

So, if you’re looking for a fun & healthy activity that will get the kids off the couch and into the yard, Myachi will grasp their attention and hold it for hours and hours. There’s the Wolverine, the Kick-Flip, the Impossible, the Cradle, the Trampoline, 360 and many more maneuvers to master. They can even record themselves, go online and duel with competitors across the land. I recently gave a few Myachi’s to a local martial-arts instructor to get some feedback from the kids. Wow, what a huge hit it was. The instructor is thinking about starting a class just for Myachi.

I met Steve Ochs (The Myachi Man) & the rest of his Myachi crew at a recent trade show. After traveling across the country, promoting the Myachi in their van, these guys were discovered & recruited by FAO Schwartz in New York City. Weekend after weekend they would mesmerize customers and engage kids with their homemade creation. Now, the Myachi is reaching new heights and has an online YouTube following that has become viral.

Anyone can learn the basics of Myachi in a matter of minutes. And kids as young as 7 or 8 years old are becoming Myachi experts. If you don’t believe me or you want to learn more, check out this video of some of the kids in action. Warning: you will get caught up in the Myachi Mania.
