Why Do Bands Not Want To Be In Guitar Hero And Rock Band?

many bands do not like the whole idea of Guitar Hero because they do not think that it encourages people to go out and play for real. Major artists like Jack White and Jimmy Page have said in the past that they simply do not see the point in it at all and that rather than paying out for electric guitars, parents are going out and buying them the entire Guitar Hero or Rock Band package.  Is this true, are things like this killing the industry or is this a load of rubbish?

Positives

Although some of the artists believe that Guitar Hero is the antichrist to music I personally think that it is only making children more aware of decent music rather than subjecting them to the trash that we often see in the charts here in the UK. The great thing is that so many people have actually picked up this game and then thought, you know what, I will try the real thing out now, this is something that is fantastic.

Negatives

One of the only issues that I personally have with the game is that it really only chooses to focus in on encouraging the use of the electric guitar. What about the other guitars like bass guitarsand of course electro acoustic guitars. It is a very known fact that an electric guitar player is not the only type of player a band is looking for. Let’s be honest here, most people simply do not have the time to learn an instrument and Guitar Hero is there for these people that just want a bit of fun.

All in all I have to say that Guitar Hero and Rock Band are not there to stop people from playing the real thing, they are there for a bit of fun and hopefully there to inspire people to play the real thing
