Riding safe – Surviving in Motorcycle crash or accident
Thousands of unfortunate accidents happen each day. If it happens to a car, chances are that if the accident was not fatal, you may survive easily, but, incase of a Motorcycle, even a simple fall on a road may leave you with fatal injuries. So, it becomes important to know what to do during a Motorcycle fall.
The first thing is try to avoid the accident as much as possible, but, in case you are not able to, you can do the following. Research has shown that during the time of accident you might only have less than two seconds to think and most of the people would freeze in panic. So, it becomes hard to take the quick decision. But, if you follow what I am going to write in this article, you might in future, save yourself from a lot of injuries. (I am not saying here bad luck , but you will surely agree that it can happen to anybody) so, do not think that reading next is useless for you. Here you go ;
The best option will be to prepare yourself to slide out or get yourself ready to jump from the bike before the fall as if you do not slide from the bike the chances are the bike can fall and you may end up having you legs or body crushed under it. If you prepare to slide from the bike make sure your legs do not touch the handle bars or any part of bike during fall as it may cause injuries.
Also, if you jump from the bike before a head on collision or simply the fall, you avoid rolling along with the bike and avoid yourself the risk of collision or major set back injuries.
If you are lucky and you are able to jump from the bike, do not fall on the road as is and do not slide on the road, you can move your arms above your shoulders and roll on the road rather than sliding.
Always wear Motorcycle riding gear while riding. This is the best option for you to keep yourself safe. If you are wearing motorcycle riding gear, and then you fall you may avoid even single scratches , but, incase you are not wearing the appropriate clothing, and you follow above steps, you may avoid major and too much injuries, but still you will have to face some injuries, bruises or even cuts. So, We at biker at heart recommends you always wear Protective motorcycle clothing while riding. Even if you are going to a nearby shop, do wear gloves and helmet. As, when you fall, you always put your hands first on the road and they are the parts that can be protected first.
