Snow Goer

Snow Goer

Avoid Borrowing That Cup Of Sugar From Your Neighbors.

Before starting on that large batch of cookies, you should always make sure that you have enough ingredients to finish the job. What you are wanting to avoid is asking your neighbors for the stereotypical cup of sugar. By imposing on them for this small thing you may learn more about them then you ever wanted to.

One of your neighbors is not on the whole a very inviting individual at all. He generally looks as though he has stepped out of a biker movie. Being anxious to finish what you started you go and ask. As you glance around the interior of his home his outward image begins to crumble. You find top of the line designer furniture. The Disney scrapbook on the coffee table is the icing on the cake. This man no longer seems menacing at all.

There is a young party-goer that has not gotten up before noon, ever. You expect to see an advanced home theater system, and semi-trashed couches. Empty beer bottles would not surprise you at all. What you see instead is a classy sofa, well-kept surroundings, and an absence of a television. There is a tall stack of suspense books, very well read, near an arm chair.

Little old ladies never hold surprises, right? You enter the home expecting walls covered with pictures of grandchildren, and needlework lying about somewhere. Instead you find quite an electronics set up, with snow boarding trophies cluttering the room. She excitedly tells you that she has been learning about the history of the LED backlight and asks if you would like to hear about it over some coffee.

The meek seeming housewife is bound to have some sugar that you can borrow. She may be small, but she has a full weightlifting set in her living room. She appears to be a bit irritated at having her workout interrupted by you.

A frilly and somewhat snobbish young woman seems straightforward enough. Then you find that she is making fireworks at home. She is preparing to set up quite a display during a local grunge band concert. She rapidly explains how it is just a little preoccupation of hers. The frills never again quite mesh with her in your mind.

Being friendly with your neighbors is wonderful. Helping each other out is part of what being in a neighborhood is all about. There is such a thing as too much information. You may soon find that what people present to the outside world is not what they are really like at all.
