Your preferences will then be matched to advertised jobs by the site. This service is free and matches can be seen when the person logs on the account or gets a notice via email.

It is possible to find sites that charge a fee for getting your CV to the top of the pile so that employers are more likely to find you above other applicants but this is often a waste of money.

You do not have to be a high flyer to use the internet for job hunting. It caters to anyone who wants to work either full time, part time or on a per project basis. 

But you do not have to use job sites to find jobs vacancies online as there are more resources. If you know of companies that you would like to work for, check out their online careers section. Just find jobs that might be of interest to you and send off your CV, then all you need to do is wait for an invitation to an interview.
